News on coffee gets better – The New England Journal of Medicine in May 2012 reports a study which concludes that men and women who drank two to three cups of coffee a day had 10 % and 13 % decrease in risk for death, respectively during the 13 year of the study compared to those who drank no coffee. This was a large study of 2,29,119 men and 1,73,141 women aged 50 to 71 years.
